Vesmajärvi, a beautiful village, is situated by the lake Vesmajärvi, about 60 kilometres east from Kittilä parish. The village is near Kumputunturi fell, the lake is in the middle of the village. Population is about 10, more during the summer time. Once the village was full on children, and cattle on the fields. Reindeer herders used to live in a village too.
The lake Vesmajärvi is a well stocked fishing lake, nowadays there is perch and whitefish. Around the village there are good hunting possibilities; elks, hares and birds.
